Michael Chambers represented a Defendant of good character charged with Controlling and Coercive behaviour at Inner London Crown Court.
It was alleged that the Defendant made threats towards the Complainant, his ex-partner, over several years, which caused her to fear serious violence. The trial involved the analysis of late-served telephone evidence consisting of hundreds of messages between the former couple, lengthy cross-examination and legal argument.
Following an almost two-week trial, it took the jury less than 12 minutes to return a not-guilty verdict.
