1MCB Chambers is a multi-disciplinary human rights set with an ongoing commitment to access to justice for all members of the community. Chambers is friendly, has established and supportive teams across a range of disciplines and is focused on a creative and innovative business approach.

We are currently looking to recruit:

i) one third six pupil with an interest in pursuing either a criminal or civil practice. During third six candidates will primarily be expected to cover chambers’ criminal work and should have at least six months’ experience, including summary trials and Crown Court advocacy.

Chambers offers successful third six candidates the opportunity to develop civil practice while also covering crime for chambers by offering a minimum of four days per month for the development of civil work;

ii) one third six pupil with an interest in pursuing a housing practice. During third six candidates will mostly be expected to cover chambers’ housing work with scope to take on immigration, criminal, family and employment work.  The applicant should be able to demonstrate a clear commitment to housing work.

All candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to developing their own practices, have a commitment to chambers’ ethos and a desire to contribute to chambers. Third six pupils will be allocated a supervisor and benefit from ongoing support throughout their time with us.  Third six pupils will receive guaranteed earnings on a monthly basis of £1250.  There is no deadline for this position.
